Renal Artery Angioplasty and Stent Insertion: An Overview of Modern Practice
摘要
The practice of endovascular angioplasty and stent insertion for renovascular disease has declined significantly since the publication of the ASTRAL and CORAL trials, but the procedures remain effective interventions in the correct clinical circumstances. This chapter aims to provide a modern update, covering all aspects of both procedures. The current consensus on indications, both for angioplasty and for stent insertion, is reviewed and up-to-date techniques are discussed. There is also a focus on pre-procedural preparation including imaging, as well as a dedicated section covering common procedural complications.
