摘要

Many researchers have investigated the surface topography in ball end milling; different approaches have been used, and many combinations of cutting conditions and machining defects have been considered. The trajectories of milling tool paths present changing directions where the tool decelerates and accelerates, obeying the machine’s velocity profiles. In this study, we present an experimental study of the effect of machine tool kinematic behavior on surface topography and an experimental analysis of the different errors that appear in the machined surface in ball end milling. Contrary to the stationary zone, the deceleration and acceleration zones have poor topography, and some phenomena appear locally. The tool’s wear is not considered in the different interpretations because it is not reached.
