Design Considerations for BIPV Systems in Oman
摘要
Solar energy technologies are in continuous growth from an installation capacity and efficiency standpoints. The improvements to solar photovoltaic (PV) systems are multifaceted. However, to effectively understand and estimate the performance of building-integrated PV (BIPV) systems it is necessary to account for the various parameters that impact their performance. These parameters tend to vary across time and place. Hence, local data collection and case studies are needed to have an accurate estimation of the power yield of these systems. This chapter offers the design considerations for BIPV systems in the Sultanate of Oman. The chapter provides various aspects of meteorological data, and presents the state of PV systems in the country and their relation to local energy policies. The case study in this chapter focuses on a BIPV system in Northern Oman and showcases its design considerations and power yield estimation.
