Photovoltaic Applications in the Built Environment in the UK

In this chapter, the metrological data for the UK are listed, among them solar radiation intensity, sunshine hours, and temperatures. The photovoltaic (PV), business availability, examples of various housing with PV application whether on their roofs or stand alone were exhibited. The drive to use PV whether in the form of Built Integrated PV (BIPV) or Attached Integrated PV (BAPV) has been accelerated since 2018 so that in the middle of 2022, there are 13.258 GW generating power to more than three million homes. The PV industry employs more than 5500 people. In this article, cost-effectiveness and example of Mr. Tony Book house PV installation are demonstrated in detail. It is worth mentioning here that the UK generates 40% of its electricity from renewables in 2022.
