The Realization of the Concept of Sustainable Development in the Calculation Theory of Sling Flutter

As the main force transmission component of suspension bridge, the suspension cable is prone to flutter and fatigue problems under the lateral interference. The fatigue strength of the suspension cable may be the control factor for design and use. In this paper, the calculation theory of sling flutter is derived, and the most unfavorable sling flutter fatigue is analyzed by the ratio of the sling length and the sine wave length of the sling flutter. The flutter can be prevented by changing the ratio, or the fatigue failure of the sling can be prevented by improving the safety factor of the sling. This paper provides a way to prevent flutter fatigue failure of slings, which is a manifestation of the concept of sustainable development.
