Innovative Experimental Research on Thiosulfate Leaching Process

Currently, the cyanidation process accounts for more than 90% of the world's gold extraction. The main disadvantages of the cyanidation process are related to environmental concerns, which can be caused by improper storage and transportation or failure of tailings management and storage. In order to reduce environmental pollution and improve the recovery rate of gold, metallurgists have proposed a variety of new gold leaching methods, which can be roughly divided into two categories: one is to develop pretreatment technology on the basis of traditional cyanidation; the other is to Cyanide-free gold leaching. Based on the existing cyanide-free leaching technology, this paper expounds the advantages of thiosulfate leaching and adsorption, multi-stage leaching leaching system. Compared with other treatment methods, the most important feature of thiosulfate is less environmental pollution. Compared with cyanide, thiosulfate gold leaching has certain technical and economic advantages, and this method has faster leaching kinetics.
