Research on Oil Spill Risk of Xuwei Port Area Based on the OILMAP Model

This study analyzes the current situation and development form of oil spill risk in Xuwei port area in terms of geographical location, vessel traffic and accident causes. Meanwhile, the OILMAP oil spill trajectory and fate model is introduced and its inference process is investigated. In addition, the OILMAP oil spill trajectory and fate model was applied to study oil spill accident risk in Xuwei port area, and the scenario analysis method was used to assume oil spill accident scenarios and predict the oil spill drift area and pollution level under each simulated accident scenario. Consequence simulation of two typical liquefaction terminal and waterway oil spills by OILMAP oil spill trajectory and fate model was conducted to analyze the pollution risk of oil spills, and the results showed that oil spills can cause serious pollution to port waters and fishery areas.
