Experimental and Simulation Study of Ammonium Bicarbonate as a Reducing Agent for SCR Denitrification

In order to treat the pollutant NOX in thermal power plants, SCR technology can be used to reduce NOx to N2. A new denitrifying agent ammonium bicarbonate is proposed, and ammonia production by ammonium bicarbonate pyrolysis is investigated by combining thermogravimetric decomposition tests with numerical simulations. The number of ammonium bicarbonate pyrolysis reaction stages is 2/3, the activation energy is 121883 J/mol, and the frequency factor is 6.513 × 1014. The ammonium bicarbonate pyrolysis chamber is designed by ourselves, and the eddy dissipation (EDC) model is used to simulate the ammonium bicarbonate pyrolysis reaction with different parameters under the condition of constant mass flow rate using FLUENT software. The results showed that the rate of ammonium bicarbonate pyrolysis reaction increased with the increase of hot air inlet temperature and velocity.
