Study on the Transformation of Blue-Green Algal Wastes by Black Soldier Flies

In order to efficiently utilize the blue-green algae wastes and make it profitable, black soldier flies were selected as the transformation tool for resource treatment. Taking the average body weight, average body length, pupation rate and etc. as indicators, the influence on the growth, development and nutritional composition of black soldier fly larvae were studied after mix the detoxified cyanobacterial algal sludge with different wastes. The results showed that they were greatly affected by feeding materials. When kitchen waste (as subsidiary material) and rice husk powder (as loosening agent) were added into the algal mud, the average body weight of the worms was significantly higher than that of the other groups. The best feeding formula is kitchen waste: rice husk meal: cyanobacterial mud of 3:1:1, and its average body weight, average body length, mortality, net weight gain, crude protein content, crude fat content were (0.2 ± 0.01) g, (2.09 ± 0.06) cm, (2.22 ± 0.38)%, (21.88 ± 2.16) g, (38.05 ± 0.64)%, (35.99 ± 1)%, respectively. The essential amino acids accounted for 49.23% of the total amino acid content. It broadens the application field of black soldier fly larva and provides a theoretical basis for the resource utilization of blue-green algae.
