摘要

Bile duct exploration is rarely used today to remove gallstones from the common bile duct (choledocholithiasis), as endoscopic procedures (ERCP) with sphincterotomy are generally the first choice. The surgical procedure may be associated with gallbladder removal. Common bile duct resection with hepaticojejunostomy may be performed for different diseases such as biliary, pancreatic, or ampullary cancer, biliary duct injuries, and choledochal cysts. A Roux-en-Y hepaticojejunostomy is generally performed after resection. In this chapter, we describe the operating theater setup when surgery is performed by a robotic approach. The tools and devices commonly used included the open conversion step.
