Elements of Slovenian Indigenous Religion

  • Lenart Škof

摘要

This essay is a philosophico-theological interpretation of the elements of Slovenian pre-Christian religious tradition called Staroverstvo (Nature Worshippers of Western Slovenia). This essay is based on Pavel Medvešček-KlančarMedvešček-Klančar, P.’s recent book Iz nevidne strani neba [From the Invisible Side of the Sky] and the first analysis of Slovenian pre-Christian religion as preserved in the Soča Valley until the late twentieth century and as documented in his book. Medvešček-KlančarMedvešček-Klančar, P.’s report and interpretation of this religious tradition is first compared to the contemporary theories of indigenous religions of the world. In the second part, we present our original philosophico-theological interpretation of the elements of this tradition in light of contemporary theories of process philosophy, quantum thinking in theology (i.e., entanglement), and horizontal transcendence within contemporary studies of natural religion.
