Data Analysis Using SPSS: Jackson Heart Study
摘要
The primary objective of this chapter is to illustrate data analysis using a nationally available prospective dataset from the Jackson Heart Study in Jackson, Mississippi. This dataset will be available for students to practice. The learning objectives of this chapter are as follows: (1) examine variable types, such as quantitative and qualitative variables; (2) examine scales of data; (3) develop research hypotheses; (4) develop research questions; and (5) use SPSS to analyze and interpret data. The types of statistical analyses include: distribution of data, frequency distribution, measures of central tendency and measures of dispersion, statistical tests such as bivariate correlation, t-test, chi-square test for categorical variables, ANOVA – one-way, factorial ANOVA, repeated measurement, and regression analysis.
