Researching and Classifying Indigenous Communication

Based on the marginalization that anything indigenous has been subjected to, this chapter goes to great lengths to show that indigenous scholarship is at par with that of their western counterparts given the effort put in by indigenous scholars to make it come into its own. These efforts revolve around surfacing indigenous philosophical worldview, research methodologies and designs. This would assist scholars interested in doing research in indigenous communities. We then proceed to discuss models and classification of communication and show their intersection with indigenous communication. The classification of communication drawing from indigenous research and scholarship sets the tone for the rest of the book.
