Indications and Examination Techniques

  • Olivier Bergès

摘要

This chapter deals with the indications and examination techniques of ophthalmic ultrasound. First, the axial section at 10 MHz in “simple immersion”, which allows for immediate evaluation of the emmetropia and ametropias, is reviewed. Then the transocular sections at 10 MHz along the meridians or along the quadrants are covered, as are the para-ocular sections. The choice of gain (sensitivity setting) and the time gain compensation curve are then discussed. Then correct measurement is presented. Second, the indications and examination techniques of the anterior segment are covered, with high-frequency and very-high-frequency ultrasound, in terms of axial sections, meridian sections and quadrant sections. Then, color Doppler imaging of the eye and its anterior segment is discussed, again regarding the indications and the examination techniques, with the three representation modes. Finally, 3D and tissue characterization are mentioned.
