Chapter 4 explores encounters with the so-called imposter syndrome and how it perpetuates the false notion that the intelligence of the other must be fraudulent as intelligence is viewed hierarchically with the other being on the margins. The perpetuation of the falsehood in turn generates untold emotional and psychological effects. These frequently lead to self-doubt, depression, anxiety, etc.
