An Economic Order Quantity Inventory Model for the Food Supply Chain with Waste Minimization based on a Circular Economy

The world’s population is constantly growing, which raises the demand for food and, consequently, the amount of food wasted throughout the supply chain, leading to environmental pollution and depletion of natural resources. Furthermore, food-processing industries generate a large amount of inedible food waste. This chapter develops an EOQ inventory model with reduced food waste by manipulating Circular economy. This research assists zero waste management, in particular recycle food, in determining the best circular index for reuse of food in order to maximize profit while also protecting the environment.
