ZnO Nanoparticles: Sustainable Plant Production
摘要
Zinc oxide (ZnO) nanoparticles (NPs) are explored for their application in sustainable plant production. Due to their distinctive behavior, ZnO NPs are greatly used in agriculture as nanofertilizers, which have much more solubilizing potential in soil compared to regular fertilizers and are accepted by plants easily. ZnO nanofertilizers show magnified growth and crop production without suffering from any poisonous effects at small doses. ZnO NPs play a very important role in the growth of plants with pronounced antibacterial and antimicrobial activities. In addition, NPs of ZnO manifested tremendous potential in their application as efficacious catalysts in agriculture. ZnO NPs also have antioxidant and biocompatible properties. It has been observed that ZnO NPs are important micronutrients and function as a complex to promote plant growth. Lower doses of ZnO NPs could greatly boost crop yields and vegetative development.
