Cardiac CT and MRI

Cardiac CT and MRI have increasing applications in the diagnosis of heart conditions. Cardiac CT has submillimeter spatial resolution which is a very useful tool for assessing coronary artery disease and heart valves. Cardiac MRI uses a wide range of imaging sequences that can characterize myocardial tissue and can quantify cardiac function and blood flow. The goal of this chapter is to summarize the applications of cardiac CT and MRI and to present imaging findings of common cardiac pathologies.
