Conclusion
摘要
The concluding chapter reiterates how the British sitcom spinoff film, from Band Waggon (1940) to People Just Do Nothing: Big in Japan (2021), shows the operations of British cinema at its most nakedly commercial. It also stresses that these films have endured long enough to illustrate a full genre life cycle and, as avowed popular entertainment, work ideologically, functioning as a barometer through which one can trace the (often-resilient) socio-cultural values and concerns of the British cinema-going public.
