Blockchain Based Election System Using Fingerprint Recognition
摘要
In the past decade, the citizens of the largest democracy of the world, India have encountered numerous cases of fraudulence in the election process. A large number of complaints have been registered related to electoral fraud. It has indeed been a challenging task to formulate an electoral system that can provide both privacy and proper authentication along with transparency. Bearing in mind the problems in the current election process, a model has been put forward that will minimize the electoral costs without affecting the privacy of balloters. The model is based on biometric identification and blockchain technology. Fingerprint recognition has been used for biometric authentication because the fingerprints of an individual are unlikely to change with the course of time. The blockchain technology is potent enough to be the substitute of the conventional system as the bewildering properties of this technology can get the better of the privacy and security of the balloter whilst significantly reducing the time of counting and announcing polls.
