Smart Irrigation Framework for Rice Cultivation Using IoT

With the growing population and depleting natural resources, it has become a dire need to get the optimum utilization of the resources. Nowadays IoT based systems are proving to be one of the best options to provide the optimum utilization of natural resources. IoT is being used in agriculture for crop health monitoring using data extracted from various sensors such as soil ph value sensors, moisture content level, humidity and also using surveillance drones and cameras. Smart irrigation frameworks are also being developed using IoT however, due to being general in nature, they lack preciseness. This paper provides an IoT based Smart Irrigation System for rice cultivation, a crop so vastly grown around the globe. The core of the system lies in its algorithm which accounts data like soil moisture content, humidity, temperature, precipitation and UV levels for times about to come. The entire connection between the sensors, micro controllers and other components such as pumps and roofing of the green house is wireless and is either through cellular network or Bluetooth. The data processing and the other applications of the system are managed by a web application or a mobile app. The following system gives us the real time solution of the accounted data mentioned above. The proposed system is completely functional and prediction results are highly accurate.
