摘要

The significance of understanding the influence of hearing loss (HL) on communication, language, and speech profiles and performances in children’s development cannot be overstated. Early identification, family-centered intervention, and providing auditory access through cochlear implants are critical for many children with HL. A multidisciplinary approach is essential to offer comprehensive support and develop coping mechanisms, including emotional support for families, helping them make informed decisions throughout their journey. Intervention strategies focused on developing spoken language through listening are crucial for families who choose this communication outcome. Furthermore, advocating for parents and promoting self-advocacy for future citizens are critical elements in effectively addressing the needs of individuals with HL.
