摘要

Families of children with disabilities often encounter numerous challenges that profoundly impact their daily lives and overall well-being. The intricate care demands of these children, coupled with societal and systemic obstacles, exacerbate the difficulties faced by families. These challenges encompass emotional and social distress (including grief, stress, anxiety, depression, isolation, and social stigmatization), financial hardships (such as increased healthcare expenses, difficulties accessing support services, and issues with balancing work and caregiving responsibilities), and strains on sibling relationships (manifested through neglect, jealousy, and role confusion within the family dynamic). These adversities can result in heightened stress, fatigue, and feelings of inadequacy among family members. Nurses play a crucial role in supporting parents of children with disabilities. It is incumbent upon nurses to provide education, emotional support, and counseling to assist parents in coping with psychological and emotional challenges. Moreover, care processes should be coordinated through a multidisciplinary team approach, with comprehensive care plans tailored to address the needs of both the child and the family unit. Additionally, nurses should advocate for the fundamental rights and needs of parents within the healthcare and social service systems, work to dismantle barriers to care, and facilitate access to essential resources.
