The COVID-19 pandemic triggered a global health crisis, exacerbating existing inequalities and vulnerabilities. In India, the nationwide lockdown significantly impacted vulnerable groups, including persons with disabilities, who faced heightened challenges due to limited access to resources and systemic barriers. This entry evaluates disability policies and the COVID-19 response in India, drawing comparisons with international strategies to identify best practices. It highlights key lessons and opportunities for building a more inclusive and responsive policy framework that enhances resilience and promotes the rights of persons with disabilities during crises.
