Visual Disability and Blindness: Common Conditions and Preventative Measures
摘要
The concept of avoidable blindness is very much in vogue, which highlights the importance of preventive interventions to reduce the blindness burden. This chapter provides an overview of the most common conditions leading to visual disability and blindness. The preventive measures mentioned in this chapter are as per the recent evidence-based clinical practice guidelines. These guidelines are also applicable in planning and implementation of primary care interventions for ocular health programs around the world. These recommendations are suggested with special focus on low-and-middle-income-countries (LMICs), like India.
