Artificial Intelligence
摘要
Physical and mental disabilities, whether due to low vision, hearing loss, mental disorders, or motor and cognitive problems, can be permanent or temporary. Designing products with adaptable designs that are suitable for people with any degree of disability is one of the goals of the continuous development of new technologies. Artificial intelligence (AI) plays a significant role in improving the lives of people with disabilities by providing innovative solutions and assistive technologies. Various studies have highlighted the significant potential of advances in the integration of AI with assistive technologies, demonstrating the diverse roles of AI in improving access and independence for people with disabilities. Advances in AI based on machine and deep learning are beginning to transform medical diagnoses and treatments and healthcare communications. When combined with rapid advances in high-performance computing, AI-based systems have increased the accuracy of diagnosis and the efficiency of treatment in many specialties. One of the applications of AI in medicine and health is the ability to predict an outcome based on previous patterns and lessons; therefore, it is very important in the pharmaceutical industry. Applications of AI benefitting people with disabilities include improving access to facilities, connecting people with disabilities with other people with the help of AI, and facilitating movement. While AI holds promise for improving the lives of people with disabilities, its development and deployment must be carefully managed. By fostering a culture of inclusion and using AI as a tool for empowerment, we can work toward a more accessible, equitable, and inclusive future for all. This includes inclusive design practices, strong ethical frameworks, and ongoing dialogue with the disability community. Future research should focus on long-term impact assessments of AI programs and strategies to ensure equitable access to these technologies.
