Disability, which is part of being human, has become a natural part of society all over the world due to the increase in the aging population and changes in the demographic structure of societies. The basic rights of all people include the participation in the economic, educational, and social dimensions of society. These also include the right to participate in cultural activities such as sport, exercise, and physical activity. Sport is the field where new opportunities are explored, where success and failure are experienced, allowing the interaction of similar age groups. Connecting countries, political opinions, and cultures, sport is an important part of society and being human. For people with disabilities, participating in regular sport is at least as important as for those without disabilities, as they can clearly benefit from an active lifestyle. The idea of the Paralympic Games was created with the development of sports organized by Sir Ludwig Guttmann at Stoke Mandeville Hospital in England in the 1940s for people with disabilities. Athletics is the sport with the largest number of participating athletes in the modern Paralympic Games.
