Participation of Children with Disabilities and Their Families in Social Life
摘要
Children with disabilities and their families face many challenges that affect their participation in social life. Despite having the right to access and participate, they encounter physical, communication, and behavioral barriers, including access to health services. Children and families are exposed to unfair conditions due to prejudice and stigma, which complicate their lives and require a process of adaptation. Teaching coping skills can help both children and families to maximize their potential and increase their independence. The identification of issues and the implementation of preventative and corrective measures, the dissemination of information and advice, the provision of counselling and guidance, and the adoption of universal design principles for architectural adjustments will have a significant impact on the lives of children with disabilities and their families. These measures will enhance the quality of life and well-being of children with disabilities. Consequently, children with disabilities and their families will be integrated into society and achieve equal rights with all individuals.
