Clinical Ethics in Disability: The Role of Decision-Making Competence
摘要
Autonomy and decision-making competence are defined for their relevance in clinical ethics. The facilitators of decision-making competence for people with disabilities or diversity are then outlined. Furthermore, clinical pitfalls for innate or acquired disability, acute setting, mental and intellectual disability, pediatrics, rehabilitation, and geriatrics are discussed. This entry aims to give clinicians the information necessary to support people with disabilities in exercising their right to autonomy.
