摘要

Over time, the research to understand the brain disorders etiopathology and their therapeutic approaches were focused on the neurotransmitter imbalance. Since a few decades ago, growing evidence suggests a crucial role for neuroinflammation and oxidative stress in developing brain disorders. Nowadays, several investigations have been focused on unmasking which was the first between neuroinflammation and neurotransmitter imbalances…the chicken or the egg. Interestingly, the brain angiotensin II is a protagonist in inflammatory events and neurotransmission modulation. For this reason and hoping to contribute to the understanding of this dilemma, this chapter will discuss the evidence of brain angiotensin II involvement in Parkinson’s disease, schizophrenia, and depression etiopathology.
