摘要

The significance of physical activity (PA) participation is essential both for children with and without intellectual disability (ID). However, due to their neurodevelopment disorder, children with ID are more likely to lead a sedentary lifestyle. Thus, it is essential that these individuals are given the right tools and opportunities to participate in PA. This chapter presents an overview of the policies that have been in place to promote inclusive physical education (PE), PA, and sports participation, turning attention to the Maltese context. Recommendation for using the inclusion spectrum curriculum as a tool for inclusion is provided.
