  • Alicja Wang

摘要

The aim of this chapter is to investigate the presentation of disability in Slovenian literature. This chapter starts with a general explanation of the history and culture of Slovenia, including the diverse ways that disability is presented in chosen literary works in Slovenian language since the nineteenth century to recent years. During most of its history, disability in Slovenian literature was used as metaphor or described in way, which was reaction to current events, like stories of war veterans. Literary landscape of disability in Slovenian literature changed rapidly after 1991, when Slovenia gained independence and collapse of the Communism allowed to publish narratives, which were not possible to publish before. The most obvious change is the appearance of autobiographies, written by authors with disabilities and disability in children’s literature.
