“Wait, Let’s Talk About It”: A Feminist Assessment of the Response of the Church of the Cross Hayfield (NELCSA) to Gender-Based Violence in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa

The chapter examines Gender-Based Violence (GBV) as a new public health pandemic and a sexual reproductive health right concern in the twenty-first century. The chapter assesses The Church of the Cross (Hayfields) NELCSA’s response to GBV in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa. It uses feminist cultural hermeneutics as a study tool to examine and expose the imbalances of gender representation from a cultural perspective.
