The Financial Regime and the Financial Image
摘要
This chapter addresses the ‘mutation of capitalism’ into the current condition of financialization that structures the social order of much of the global North. Drawing on theoretical work by Vogl, Deleuze, Foucault, and Lazzarato, the chapter provides a detailed examination of The Girl Rosemarie (Thiele, 1958) and Liquidity Inc. (Steyerl, 2014) to ask the question of whether cinema, in any of its contemporary modes, can appropriately register and counter the increasing control of finance.
