A literary and cultural study, The Campus Queen in Literature and Culture: Prom Queen Profiles explores the ubiquity and longevity of the prom queen archetype in modern myth and story, and thus its opening chapter considers Queen Question #1: To what extent is a study of the campus queen meaningful? The first chapter, in kind, addresses this opening question, underscores the archetype’s cultural relevance, and outlines the chapters to follow.
