Maternal Postpartum Hemorrhage and Neonatal Resuscitation

This case will review the management of a pregnant patient with active labor with a nuchal cord, complicated by neonatal respiratory distress and maternal hemorrhage . Providers should recognize that the patient is in active labor with a nuchal cord, the need for immediate neonatal resuscitation, and the maternal hemorrhage. They should demonstrate correct BLS techniques and knowledge about local resources and policies, and correct application of ALS techniques and management in accordance with their scope of practice. CCT providers should perform maternal hemorrhage management in accordance with local protocols.
