Termination of Resuscitation

The crew is called to respond to a patient in cardiac arrest while at home. Based on scope of practice and available resources, providers should review optimal BLS and ALS care, including the associated treatment protocols and algorithms, adjunct devices, and medications. There should be a discussion about additional local resources when treating a patient in cardiac arrest. The decision to terminate resuscitation should be reviewed with treating providers in accordance with local protocols and policies.
