Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA)

This case will review the management of a patient with insulin-dependent diabetes who presents with hyperglycemia, and is ultimately diagnosed with DKA. Providers should demonstrate correct BLS techniques and knowledge about local resources and policies, and correct application of ALS techniques and management in accordance with their scope of practice. CCT providers should monitor the glucose and electrolyte response to an insulin drip during transport, and treat changes in accordance with local protocols.
