Introduction to Simulation Training
摘要
Simulation is a widely used, effective tool for application of knowledge and skills, assessment of skills, experiencing uncommon situations, identifying systems issues, and practicing effective teamwork and communication. When facilitated effectively, it allows for application, analysis, and synthesis of acquired knowledge, which is typically difficult to achieve in a classroom setting prior to in vivo application at the bedside. Additionally, via combined simulated experience and reflective debriefing, learners transition through all of the phases of Kolb’s Experiential Learning model for adult learners: active experimentation, concrete experience, reflective observation, and abstract conceptualization.
