Burn Care, Carbon Monoxide and Cyanide Poisoning

This case will review the management of a patient who sustained a burn injury in a fire with multiple reported casualties. The provider will review the principles of scene management, and care of multiple patients. Providers should recognize the possibility of carbon monoxide and cyanide toxicity, and enact the correct local protocols for management. Paramedic and CCT providers should consider airway management techniques, with possible escharotomy performed by CCT providers in accordance with local protocols.
