Hazardous Material, Mass Casualty Incident (MCI) Triage

This case will review the management of a mass casualty incident secondary to a hazardous chemical released in a public area. Providers will demonstrate correct BLS techniques and knowledge about local resources and policies, and correct application of ALS techniques, in accordance with the provider’s scope of practice. The providers will review local mass casualty protocols and policies, securing scene safety, use a NIOSH-certified Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear (CBRN) Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) with a Level A protective suit. Finally, providers will familiarize themselves with triage algorithms.
