The authors bring this text to conclusion through conversation and emphasise the importance of the word “interview,” which Cixous splits in “Rootprints” to connect her words with those of her co-author, Michelle Calle Gruber. The word “interview” originally meant “to see between,” and when combined with the etymology of “conversation,” which means “to turn around with,” it suggests the concept of “seeing and turning around with and between.” The authors offer that this kind of writing which embraces space between things and refuses to remain static, is a key element of Cixous’s work. They also note that autoethnography shares a similar quality of creating connections between the self and the social, opening pathways between different registers and bringing words and worlds to life.
