  • Maíra Samara de Lima Freire

摘要

This chapter carries out a comparative analysis of the role of Black women and their work relations in different Black territories located in Ladina Améfrica. The author focuses on work relations, femininity, and race in Brazil and Colombia, with a specific focus on Quilombola and Palenquera communities. There are particularities and similarities in the sense and meaning that work brings about for Black women in these racialized territories. Relying on ethnography of the experiences of those in these Black communities, the author argues that women in theseBlack territories play crucial roles for the social viability of the community. They occupy a central position within these territorialities as generators of the technologies of living.
