Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumor
摘要
Gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST) are the most common mesenchymal neoplasm arising in the digestive tract. Definitive treatment for GISTs is surgical extirpation with negative margins. GISTs overexpress the KIT protein, a tyrosine kinase receptor. DOG-1 is a protein, the antibodies to which are highly specific for GISTs, and when used in conjunction with immunohistological staining for KIT/CD117, virtually confirms the diagnosis of GIST.
