Kaposi’s Sarcoma

Kaposi’s sarcoma is a spindle cell tumor that can involve the skin, the airway, the gastrointestinal tract, lungs, heart, liver, lymphatics, spleen, and bone marrow. The diagnosis of Kaposi’s sarcoma is made by the presence of spindle-shaped cells with associated vascular slits on histopathology. Kaposi’s sarcoma is associated with immunosuppression due to drugs or HIV infection. Current therapy involves chemotherapy.
