Embryology-Intestinal Rotation
摘要
The embryologic gut is established by the end of the first trimester. The final location of the midgut structures is determined by a series of counterclockwise rotations performed during physiologic herniation via the umbilicus. The appendix develops from a cecal bud that travels to the right iliac fossa. Additionally, the dorsal mesenteries of the ascending colon and the descending colon recede, resulting in their retroperitoneal fixation.
