Perilunate Dislocation Failed Fixation
摘要
The spectrum of perilunate injuries has been elegantly described and classified by Mayfield in the 1980s. Treatment of these injuries relies upon the reduction of key articulations, satisfactory stabilisation and ligament repair where possible. The majority of these injuries are a result of an axial force exerted upon an extending and supinating wrist, resulting in a usually, predictable sequence of injury. Prompt evaluation and appropriate pre-operative planning are essential to avoid complications and particularly failed fixation.
