Lower Blepharoplasty: Transconjunctival Approach
摘要
Lower blepharoplasty treats the excess of skin and fat prolapse in the lower eyelids. The internal approach, through the conjunctiva is characterized by the absence of skin incision, which avoids the orbicularis oculi muscle, preserving its contractile capacity and avoiding important complications. The procedure can be carried out via a preseptal or a retroseptal approach, depending on the area to be accessed and treated. Careful patient and technique selection, with proper pre-operative examination, is crucial for a successful outcome.
