Uzbek Diaspora in the USA: Migration, Social Change, and Quality of Life
摘要
The purpose of this study is to investigate the quality of life of the Uzbek diaspora in the USA. The study is based on semi-structured interviews of 20 Uzbek migrants focusing on their successes and failures during their migratory trajectories from the perspective of quality of life. Conducted interviews in New York City, Chicago, and Indiana state revealed that the quality of life of the Uzbek diaspora improved after migration to the USA and they are satisfied with the US democracy and income. At the same time, most of them are worried about the Uzbek language and matters related to cultural loss.
