Building Global Value and Driving Global Change: A Global Ethic Perspective
摘要
Change always comes from the cross-roads of individual practices within their social and cultural contexts. There can be surprising developments, for the better or for the worse. As we all live in a world of embedded concepts and embodied universals, we have to see both: the immediate, local and practical reality as well as the overarching, global, conceptual reference. I will show this using the example of the Global Ethic Institute (Weltethos-Institut) at the University of Tübingen in Germany, including the cross-roads of my own life-line. Beyond, we need to consider the contribution of other major players who have in mind the common concern of a peaceful world for all human beings, within a stable ecological system environment. I shall proceed starting from the micro-level, my own person, for then enlarging the horizon looking at the Global Ethic Institute (Weltethos-Institut), with an outlook to global perspectives and world-wide concerns.
